POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Nursing directs and supervises professional nursing and auxiliary personnel rendering resident care services. The Director plans and conducts conferences and discussions with the Administrator and nursing staff to encourage participation in formulating department policies, promoting initiatives, solving problems and interpreting new regulations and procedures. The Director coordinates activities of various nursing home departments, promoting and maintaining harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, residents, their families and the public. Strong leadership skills are required with the ability to onboard and discipline staff as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Five to ten years nursing experience in a supervisory position preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Five to ten years nursing experience, including experience in administration, Director or Assistant Director of Nursing
